POSITION DESCRIPTION SFVAMC/UCSF ICU Nocturnist The San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) is in search of applicants for ICU Nocturnist positions. The SFVAMC is a major teaching site for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and all department of medicine physicians enjoy a joint appointment at UCSF. Our hospital has 100 beds, with approximately 50% occupied by medical patients at any one time. Successful candidates will be excellent clinicians with a passion for inpatient medicine, strong interpersonal and communication skills, an interest in working with UCSF trainees, and committed to providing exceptional care for our Veterans. In this role, the ICU Nocturnist will: 1) admit patients to the ICU and provide coverage for existing ICU patients 2) work with the overnight UCSF medicine residents to admit patients to the wards and assist in cross-covering medical ward patients. 3) serve as the code blue leader and staff rapid response team calls 4) triage all
