Electrical VDC Manager

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical VDC Manager to lead and develop a growing Virtual Design & Construction team supporting major electrical construction projects across the United States. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing VDC operations, driving BIM strategy, managing project coordination, developing team capabilities, and ensuring the successful delivery of coordinated models and digital construction workflows. The VDC Manager will work closely with executive leadership, operations, project management, field teams, and clients to implement best‑in‑class VDC processes across multiple high‑profile projects. This is a hybrid position , requiring three days per week in the office and two days working remotely . Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Electrical VDC team across multiple concurrent projects. Develop and implement VDC standards, workflows, and best practices across the business. Oversee BIM execution planning, model coordination, clash detection, and digital project delivery. Manage project staffing, resource allocation, and team performance to meet project schedules and deliverables. Partner with Project Managers, Operations, Preconstruction, Engineering, and Field Leadership to ensure constructability and seamless project execution. Drive prefabrication initiatives through coordinated digital construction processes. Mentor, coach, and develop VDC personnel, fostering technical excellence and career progression. Ensure compliance with company BIM standards, client requirements, and industry best practices. Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, collaboration, and project outcomes. Provide strategic leadership for VDC initiatives across large‑scale commercial, healthcare, mission‑critical, industrial, and renewable energy projects. Support business development efforts by contributing VDC expertise during pursuits and client presentations where required. Qualifications Required Proven experience leading VDC, BIM, or digital construction teams within the electrical or MEP construction industry. Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, coordination, constructability, and prefabrication. Advanced proficiency with Revit and BIM coordination platforms. Experience managing multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection processes. Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (3 days in office / 2 days remote) . Experience 7+ years of experience within Electrical VDC/BIM. Previous experience managing teams and leading VDC strategy on large‑scale construction projects. Preferred Experience with Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, or similar coordination platforms. Experience supporting prefabrication and digital construction initiatives. Background working on large commercial, healthcare, data centre, industrial, or mission‑critical projects. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
