Audiology Technician (Temporary)

Aldevra is currently seeking a temporary Audiology Technician to assist Audiologist in the performance of audiologic evaluations and the fitting of hearing aids. Provide direct patient support for walk-in and telephone hearing aid problems. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist Audiologist in Audiological Evaluations
• Taking accurate ear mold impressions
• Preparing the mold for shipping
• Tracking hearing aid orders and communicating with vendors
• Monitoring supplies
• Routine repairs of hearing aids
• Clean and maintain audiologic equipment in accordance with OSHA standards
• Provide chart review as needed
• Instruct clients in the proper maintenance, cleaning and use of hearing aids and/or assisted listening devices (ALD)
• Communicating and documenting patient education and reports in the medical record
• Cerumen Management
• May routinely be required to do a variety of previously unforeseen tasks in order to assist with the smooth function of the Audiology clinic
• All other duties assigned

This position requires passing an extensive background check.

This position is based in a clinical environment and involves direct patient interaction, hands-on audiology support, hearing aid care, equipment cleaning and maintenance, computer work and documentation, and collaboration with the audiology team.

• Maintain attention to detail, follow clinical procedures, and document accurately.
• Organize tasks, manage changing priorities, and recognize when to seek assistance.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, caregivers, coworkers, and vendors.
• Perform precise hand movements when handling hearing aids, small components, and clinical instruments.
• Observe small parts, read records and screens, and inspect equipment using appropriate aids as needed.
• Position oneself for patient care and access, handle, move, and clean job-related supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent and training
• One-year experience as Audiology Technician is preferred
• One-year previous medical experience or training in medical fields (such as medical assistant, lab assistant, LPN).
• Dependable, professional, punctual and must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently
• Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
• Valid Real-ID state-issued driver's license
• Able to multi-talk efficiently and accurately, focusing on quality
• Provide proof of the following tests:
• Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or interferon-gamma release assays (IGRA)
• Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
• Varicella
• Acellular Pertussis
• Influenza
• OSHA regulation concerning occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens
