RN Cardiac Cath EP Lab

The Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab Holding Area provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac and vascular procedures. This role involves pre-procedure preparation, post-procedure recovery, and Phase I/II PACU-level care for patients with various cardiac conditions. The nurse performs patient assessments, education, procedural support, hemodynamic monitoring, moderate sedation recovery, and manages acute and non-acute clinical situations in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment focused on exceptional patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and provide education related to cardiac catheterization and EP procedures.
• Support procedural activities and assist in pre- and post-operative care.
• Monitor hemodynamic status and manage moderate sedation recovery.
• Manage acute and non-acute clinical situations in the holding and recovery areas.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Telemetry nursing experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Cath Lab and/or EP Lab preferred.
• Experience in CVICU or cardiac care preferred.

• Recent Cath Lab and EP Lab experience is highly desired.
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and moderate sedation recovery.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary cardiac care team environments.

• Work involves a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac procedural environment.
• Must be able to manage acute and non-acute clinical situations effectively.
• Occasional weekend shifts as needed based on unit requirements.

• 40 hours per week, consisting of four 10-hour shifts.
• Day and night rotation schedule.
• Shift assignments include pre-op and recovery coverage in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab Holding Area.
