Next Generation Readiness Director

Date Posted: 6/16/2026 The NGR Next Generation Readiness Director will lead the development and implementation of forward-looking, skills-based education programs designed to prepare students for undefined and emerging occupations. This role centers on mastery of transferable skills, integration of technology for future careers, and a continuum of learning from kindergarten through college into industry. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Design and Instructional Leadership Develop and implement a forward‑looking curriculum focused on skill mastery and transferable life skills. Align instructional practices with future occupations and evolving labor market needs. Integrate technology and digital literacy in multiple disciplines to prepare students for tech‑enabled work environments. Promote flexibility and malleability in learners to adapt to rapid changes in work and society. Professional Development Lead district‑wide professional development on literacy, numeracy, and 21st‑century competencies within current and futuristic occupations. Design and deliver PD that helps instructors create individualized digital portfolios aligned to micro‑credentialing. Foster best practices in data‑informed instruction, assessment, and feedback loops. Portfolio and Credentialing Framework Create a system for individualized digital portfolios that track student growth, achievements, and competencies from K through college and into industry. Establish micro‑credential pathways that validate mastery across academic, technical, and soft skills. Ensure portfolio portability and relevance across transitions (elementary to middle to high school to postsecondary and industry). Career Pathways and "Backward Design" Define each career pathway program using backward design starting from 12th grade outcomes and working back to elementary levels. Develop a cohesive whole‑student framework that incorporates academic mastery, career readiness, social‑emotional growth, and well‑being. Collaborate with industry partners to align pathways with real‑world opportunities and labor market needs. Partnerships and Resource Management Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with Alani (or intended organization/partners), corporations, and other resources to support job placement and readiness. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure pathway programs have sustainable funding, facilities, and technology support. Oversee the integration of community and industry resources into curriculum and work‑based learning experiences. Assessment, Evaluation, and Accountability Establish metrics and rubrics to measure mastery of skills, portfolio progress, and readiness for postsecondary pathways. Monitor program effectiveness, student outcomes, and continuous improvement opportunities. Prepare regular reports for the superintendent and school board on progress and impact. Leadership and Compliance Report directly to the Superintendent of Schools, Steven McGhee. Ensure all programs comply with district policy, state/federal regulations, equity, and access standards. Lead, supervise, and support a team of educators, coordinators, and support staff dedicated to NGR goals. Other Duties Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications Master's degree in Education or a related field (Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, Career Pathways, Counseling). Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, and school/district leadership. Demonstrated ability to design and implement competency‑based, project‑based, or work‑based learning programs. Strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy instruction, and future‑focused pedagogy. Experience with digital portfolios, micro‑credentialing, and credentialing ecosystems. Familiarity with industry partnerships, workforce development, and career pathways. Excellent communication, collaboration, and change‑management skills. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and removing access barriers for all students.
