Mr. Handyman of Greater Peoria is hiring a Carpenter who wants W-2 stability instead of running a solo 1099 business.

If you are a finish carpenter who also handles related home repairs, and you are tired of finding your own work, driving all over, and doing your own billing, this role keeps you on local jobs in Greater Peoria while we handle scheduling, dispatch, and bookkeeping.

Pay
Weekly gross typically $800–$1,200+ depending on experience and performance. Pay is tied to completed work on local jobs—not long-distance travel between towns.

Schedule and location
Full-time, weekday-focused work in Greater Peoria, Illinois. We assign and route the work. You are not building a multi-county travel schedule.

What you will do
●       Finish carpentry: interior and exterior trim, casing, base, crown, and custom fit-up
●       Doors, hardware, locks, closers, and related adjustments
●       Shelving, built-ins, and punch-list carpentry
●       Drywall repair and texture matching on carpentry-related openings and patches
●       Light exterior carpentry: soffit, fascia, siding repairs, and fence board/post repairs
●       Support work that often rides with carpentry: painting touch-up, caulking, and basic fixture installs
●       Walk the job with the client, write a clear estimate, and complete the work with minimal disruption
●       Document photos and notes on an iPad / mobile device
●       Leave a clean, safe job site and communicate professionally with the client

What you need
●       8–10+ years of hands-on residential carpentry (light commercial a plus)
●       Strong finish skills; comfortable with doors, trim, and accurate measuring
●       Ability to produce accurate estimates and present them in the home
●       Your own carpenter tools
●       Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
●       Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
●       Comfortable with mobile job documentation
