Medical Assistant

Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility Room patients and prepare them for examination Record medical history and vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.) Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG) Assist providers during patient visits and communicate patient needs Process co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments Maintain clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms and front desk areas Manage medical records, documentation, and patient communications Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries Support daily clinic operations including opening/closing duties Requirements Medical Assistant certification is REQUIRED at time of hire Accepted certifications include: CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA) CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP) RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH, or ARMA) NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP) Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) – required at hire High school diploma or equivalent required Strong knowledge of medical terminology Excellent communication and patient service skills Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in patient registration, medical history documentation, and point-of-care testing while ensuring effective communication and support during patient visits.
