Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring circulating experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care setting at a Level 3 trauma facility
• Cardiac Cath Lab with 4 labs, typically running 3 rooms simultaneously
• Case volume ranges from 5-7 minimum up to 15 cases per day
• Performs EP cases including ICDs, pacemakers, and ablations (A-Flutter, SVT, A-Fib)
• Cares for cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and traumatic embolization patients
• RNs circulate and monitor cases; team includes a circulating RN, scrub tech, and monitor tech
• Uses GE MacLab/Combo Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring System for case monitoring
• MEDITECH EMR used for charting
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, starting 0600/0630
• Call requirement of approximately 10-11 days per month including 1 weekend
• Floats between two campus locations (Bryan and College Station, TX)

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Must be able to independently circulate cases
• Copy of driver's license required at time of submittal to verify legal name matches government-issued ID
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for cardiac, peripheral, neuro, and embolization cases in the cath lab
• Cross-trained staff support monitoring duties for all cases
• Three-day unit orientation with expectation of independent case work by end of first week
• New nurses begin call responsibilities in the second week with support from experienced staff
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
• Location offers a college-town atmosphere near Texas A&M University
