Salary Range The full pay range for this role is $22.69 to $47.74 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $25.00 to $32.00 per hour. Scope of Job We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from entry‑level Technician 1 to expert Technician 5 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility‑scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Required Training Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3–4 week training and certification course at the start of employment. The training takes place in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided. Location This position is onsite in Mt. Stirling, OH. Responsibilities Technician 1 (Entry‑Level) – Assists experienced technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Focuses on learning and applying safety protocols. Works under specific direction and direct supervision. Technician 2 (Experienced) – Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades. Participates in the 24‑hour “On Call” rotation. Technician 3 (Senior) – Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks. May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2. Technician 4 (Expert/Lead) – Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance and leads major repairs. Acts as a subject matter expert and trains and signs off on the competency of Techs 1‑3. Assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence. Technician 5 (Expert/Lead) – Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance and leads major repairs. Acts as a subject matter expert and trains and signs off on the competency of Techs 1‑3. Assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence. Shared Responsibilities (Applicable To All Levels) Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, and lead site safety assessments. Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly. Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation. Attend all required safety and technical training. Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies. Technician levels 2‑5 participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification. Fiscal Responsibilities All levels of the organization must be fiscally responsible on the company’s behalf. Qualifications Experience – Tech 1: 0–1 year in renewable energy or equivalent field; Tech 2: 1–2 years; Tech 3: 2+ years; Tech 4: 2–4 years; Tech 5: minimum 5 years. Education – High school diploma or equivalent for all levels. Knowledge & Skills – Basic computer knowledge; basic schematics and multimeter use; deep competency in generation theory; advanced electrical safety, arc‑flash standards, NEC knowledge; proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools; industry best practices and ability to train less experienced technicians. Certifications – Must complete all required training upon hire. Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards and have competency in system software and industry standards. Other – Must possess a valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Field work: Primarily conducted 100% in the renewable asset field for Techs 1‑3; Tech 4 may spend approximately 20% of time in the office. Work at height: Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 ft (91 m) and work at those heights and in confined spaces. Conditions: Comfortable working in extreme weather (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical‑mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy. Lifting: Ability to regularly lift up to 35 lb and frequently lift up to 50 lb.
