Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector performs hands-on, manual inspection of assembled electrical cables, ranging from small to large cables used in aerospace applications. This role ensures that all cables are properly built, meet quality and safety standards, and can withstand required pressure and performance tests. The inspector uses both worksheets and computer systems to document results and works closely with the production and assembly teams on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual inspection of assembled electrical cables of various sizes to ensure they meet quality, safety, and performance standards.

• Lift and position cables weighing up to 50 pounds onto machines and test equipment to run pressure and performance tests.

• Use hand tools and inspection tools to verify cable integrity, construction, and compliance with specifications.

• Conduct visual and functional inspections to identify defects, inconsistencies, or nonconforming materials.

• Document inspection findings accurately on worksheets and enter data into computer systems as required.

• Collaborate with production and assembly teams to address quality issues and support continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor.

• Follow established quality control procedures, inspection criteria, and safety guidelines at all times.

• Support basic troubleshooting of electrical or cable-related issues identified during inspection, escalating complex issues as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling of cables and equipment.

• Work effectively as part of a team of inspectors and production staff to meet production schedules and quality targets.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of quality inspection or quality control experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

• Proven ability to perform manual inspections, including handling and lifting cables up to 50 pounds regularly.

• Experience working in production or manufacturing settings, preferably with assembly or cable-related work.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when inspecting products and documenting results.

• Ability to use hand tools and basic inspection tools safely and effectively.

• Comfort using worksheets and basic computer input for documentation and record-keeping.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment on a busy production floor.

• Willingness and physical ability to perform repetitive, hands-on tasks and heavy lifting as part of daily duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electrical cables, cable assembly, or related electrical components.

• Basic understanding of electrical concepts or electrical troubleshooting in a production environment.

• Previous experience in quality assurance or inspection within aerospace, manufacturing, or similar industries.

• Strong communication skills to report issues and collaborate with production and quality teams.

• Reliability and commitment to a long-term role with opportunities to develop skills and grow.

• Comfort working on an afternoon to late-night shift schedule (3:30 PM to 12:00 AM).

Work Environment

The role is based on a production floor that operates similarly to a medium-sized machine shop, with active manufacturing and assembly areas nearby. You will work closely with a team of eight or more colleagues on the floor, collaborating in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The shift runs from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, requiring comfort with afternoon and late-night hours. The setting involves working near machinery, cable assembly stations, and test equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and organization. Steel-toed shoes are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety on the production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fall River, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
