ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a Field Service Engineer with our Aviation client in Wichita, Kansas.

This position is responsible for providing advanced technical support for aircraft lithium-ion battery systems, power conversion equipment, and related electrical power system products. The ideal candidate will serve as a key technical resource for customers, troubleshooting complex aircraft electrical system issues, supporting product installations and operations, and collaborating with engineering, quality, and sales teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and product performance.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, or a related technical field
• Minimum 5+ years of aviation industry experience in technical support, field service, maintenance, or related customer-facing engineering roles
• Extensive knowledge of aircraft electrical power systems, battery systems, and power conversion technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills related to aircraft electrical system installation, operation, and performance
• Experience conducting testing, inspections, and evaluations of aircraft avionics and electrical systems
• Working knowledge of aviation certification standards including DO-160, DO-254, DO-178, and DO-311A
• Familiarity with FAA and EASA regulations, including FAR Parts 91, 23, 25, and repair station requirements
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals
• Working knowledge of aircraft instruments and avionics systems
• Familiarity with FAA Special Conditions and certification processes

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical support resource for aircraft battery, electrical power system, and power conversion products, assisting customers with installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting
• Diagnose complex technical issues and drive timely resolution through collaboration with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams
• Analyze field performance data and identify reliability trends, supporting root-cause investigations and corrective actions
• Manage and track customer support cases, ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication, and timely follow-up
• Conduct technical evaluations, testing, and inspections of aircraft electrical and avionics systems to verify proper operation and performance
• Support customer meetings, industry trade shows, and technical presentations by providing product expertise and application guidance
