Area Human Resources Manager - Long Island, NY

As an Area Human Resources Manager, you lead HR strategy and operations across multiple Sunrise communities, ensuring strong recruitment, compliance, and team member engagement. This position supports communities across Long Island, including Holbrook, Smithtown, East Setauket, Dix Hills, and West Babylon. The role requires regular travel between communities to provide on-site HR partnership and support, with approximately 3-4 days per week of on-site presence across these locations, based on the needs of the market. What You’ll Do Oversee full-cycle recruitment, job fairs, and hiring processes Ensure compliance with Sunrise Hiring Standards and employment laws Lead onboarding, orientation, and system access for new team members Maintain HRIS, ATS, personnel files, and regulatory documentation Manage unemployment and workers’ compensation claims Serve as HR partner to department leaders on performance management Lead employee relations matters and internal investigations Drive team member engagement initiatives and action planning Deliver HR systems and policy training for front-line staff Maintain audit readiness and complete monthly compliance controls (MKCC) You play a vital leadership role in building engaged teams, protecting compliance, and strengthening the team member experience across your region. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree preferred in HR, Business, or related field 2+ years HR experience (senior living or healthcare preferred) Supervisory and employee relations experience Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills High integrity and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems Regional HR Manager – Lead People Strategy Across Communities HR Manager | Human Resources Leadership | Employee Relations Pay Range: 68,000.00 - 85,000.00 As part of our team, you will help brighten the future for everyone at Sunrise and beyond.
