Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for our Dunkirk, NY client.


We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Repairer to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of industrial equipment and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have strong millwright and welding experience, excellent mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.


Starting Wage: $35.01 per hour

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to perform millwright and welding responsibilities.
• Experience with hydraulic systems preferred.
• Proficiency in:
  • GMAW (MIG Welding)
  • GTAW (TIG Welding)
  • SMAW (Stick Welding)
  • Arc Gouging
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Essential Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment and machinery.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems, overhead cranes, gas furnaces, refractory systems, and mechanical drive systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
• Fabricate fixtures, parts, and equipment components using welding and metalworking techniques.
• Install, relocate, and assist with startup of new or existing equipment.
• Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring devices.
• Identify equipment deficiencies and communicate recommendations to supervisors.
• Assist in determining material and parts requirements for maintenance projects.
• Support production operations during equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

• Hand and power tools
• Welding and cutting equipment
• Precision measuring instruments
• Electrical testing equipment
• Hydraulic jacks and pumps
• Forklifts and material handling equipment
• Hoists, slings, chains, and rigging equipment
• Pipe fitting and threading tools
• Blueprints, schematics, and maintenance documentation

Reporting Structure


Reports To:

• Plant Superintendent
• Maintenance Foreman
• Production Foreman

Leadership Responsibilities:

• May provide direction to production employees during breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Exposure to machinery, heat, noise, and industrial processes.
• Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Compensation: $35.01 per hour
