Heat Treat Maintenance Technician IIAustin Industrial provides premier self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft service to leading industrial companies across the U.S. An industry leader for more than 60 years, we offer single-source solutions to our customers in the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing industries.Heat Treat Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and reliability of heat-treating equipment and associated production systems used in industrial manufacturing environments. This role ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within required temperature and process specifications.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures.Troubleshoot and maintain heat-treating furnaces, ovens, burners, drives, motors, pumps, and gearboxes.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and heat-treatment equipment.Inspect, calibrate, and maintain temperature-control instrumentation and sensors.Verify proper operation of safety systems, alarms, and interlocks.Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components.Interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.Maintain gas burner systems and combustion-related equipment.Perform equipment inspections to identify and prevent potential failures.Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspection results.Follow all plant safety procedures, environmental regulations, and maintenance standards.Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and uptime.Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.Skills:Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Knowledge of industrial maintenance best practices.Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.Experience with control instrumentation, sensors, and calibration procedures.Understanding of combustion systems, gas burners, and heat-treatment processes.Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and industrial safety procedures.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.Experience:Typically 2 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.Prior experience maintaining heat-treating equipment, industrial furnaces, ovens, or heavy manufacturing machinery preferred.Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Education:High School Diploma or GED required.Technical school, vocational training, or certification in:Industrial MaintenanceElectrical SystemsMechatronicsInstrumentationMetallurgyMechanical Technologyis strongly preferred.Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements:Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and use hands and fingers to perform assigned duties.
