About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years License: NC or Compact License Pending OK for Submittal Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Strong Neuro Critical Care Background - Minimum of 2 Years Experience in Neuro ICU - Experience with Vents, IV Start, and Neuro Intensive Care Unit Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. Traveler experience of 2 years in Neuro ICU is required. Unit will not accept first-time travelers. Local candidates will be accepted with a rate difference. Candidate must be comfortable managing a patient ratio that can flex from 2:1 to 3:1 during high census. Average daily census is between 11-12 patients. Must be available for two of three major holidays. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. Unit is a comprehensive stroke center, managing patient populations including strokes, SDHs, craniotomies, and seizures. Special procedures include management of external ventricular drains and ICP monitoring. Strong experience with care of ventilated patients and blood product administration is essential. The unit utilizes various special equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, and monitoring systems. Candidates will be interviewed prior to approval. EKG testing is required prior to starting. Must be prepared to float within or near the facility as needed. References can be pending at submission.
