District Wholesale Manager

Role Summary The District Wholesale Manager will direct the sale of Avis Budget Group (ABG) vehicles through all available channels within assigned area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating and providing guidance to Operations & Supply Chain for proper placement of sale vehicles at auctions or other channels. Work with National Car Sales Team to maintain consistent pricing to attain desired Division P & L and Fleet goals. Occasional travel required. What You’ll Do: Direct sales of vehicles through all available channels within assigned area Coordinate and provide guidance to Operations Sales & Supply Chain to achieve ’Right Car Right Place’ for sale of vehicles at auctions and other channels Attend auctions to sell cars, monitor market conditions and maintain reasonable inventory levels Manage promotional sales events at various locations to optimize vehicle values Coordinate with National Car Sales Team to adjust pricing when needed Analyze and collect competitive sales and pricing data Monitor and enforce pricing for off rent vehicles, damaged/wrecked vehicles, commercial truck inventory, retail trade in vehicles and other inventory that becomes eligible for sale Maintain positive relationships with auctions and potential buyers in assigned area Resolve buyer disputes/arbitrations Track payments from all sales in region to ensure proper and timely proceeds receipt Monitor inventory levels and hold selling locations accountable for all ABG inventory Enforce and revise established vehicle sales policies as required Negotiate sale, transport and repair fees with various vendors Perks You’ll Get: Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance Eligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages 401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributions Full training to learn the business and enhance professional skills Employee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget cars Access to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and more What We’re Looking For: College Degree Required Experience in wholesale vehicle sales and familiarity with wholesale vehicle auction process strongly preferred Previous experience with rental car or other fleet organizations preferred Effective communication and creative issue resolution skills Ability to successfully interact with vendors, customers and internal employees Excellent computer skills with strong experience in Excel Good Negotiation Skills Ability to work with a sense of urgency Strong Self‑Motivator Ability to organize and follow through on a wide variety of simultaneous tasks Experience with AutoIMS preferred The annual starting salary for this position is between $75,000 – $80,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
