Job Title: Controller – Hospitality & Entertainment Location: Miami Reports To: Director of Operations / CEO Department: Finance & Accounting Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for our dynamic and growing hospitality and entertainment company. With multiple new projects in the pipeline, this role will be integral in managing pre-opening budgets, financial projections, and operational finance across our properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality accounting, financial planning, and project management, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic financial growth. Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and manage pre-opening budgets and financial models for new hospitality, entertainment, and real estate projects. Oversee financial projections, cash flow analysis, and funding strategies for new and existing properties. Work closely with executive leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives. Accounting & Compliance: Oversee daily accounting operations, including revenue management, expense tracking, and financial reporting. Manage accounts payable and receivable and overall vendor management. Currently working to leverage bookkeeping technology to streamline. Generate invoices for events as requested by General Managers. Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific financial requirements. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and improve financial transparency. Assist in the preparation of tax returns. The company's CPA firm is Citrin Cooperman who do the full tax preparation and submittal. Utilize Quickbooks accounting software and Craftable for bookkeeping tasks and reporting. Project & Pre-Opening Support: Provide financial leadership for new openings, renovations, and capital projects, ensuring proper financial tracking and reporting. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and operations teams to optimize financial planning and execution. Develop cost analyses, feasibility studies, and ROI assessments for new investments. Operational Finance & Performance Monitoring: Develop systems for weekly P&L review with ownership and key management across each property. Monitor key financial metrics, including revenue, profitability, labor costs, and operational efficiency. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for stakeholders and investors. Partner with department heads to analyze performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize financial operations. Technology & Process Improvement: Oversee financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency. Identify opportunities for cost control, process optimization, and financial innovation.
