Senior Product Manager, Commercial API

Own the product roadmap for vehicle command APIs and data APIs Prioritize capabilities based on customer needs, technical feasibility, and business impact Define user journeys, product requirements, and success metrics for API features and enhancements Collaborate with engineering, design, and program management to deliver scalable APIs Partner with product marketing, sales, and customer support on go-to-market strategies Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify improvement opportunities Incorporate regional needs, vehicle variants, and customer use cases into global solutions Drive secure and compliant data sharing and vehicle control frameworks with legal, cybersecurity, and privacy teams Expand GM’s Commercial API product suite into new global markets Shape how vehicle data is shared with external developers and partners Requirements Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of product management or relevant industry experience Experience with API, platform, or developer-facing products Strong analytical skills using SQL, Python, or other analytical tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Ability to drive alignment and build consensus with cross-functional stakeholders Experience with connected vehicles, telematics, or IoT platforms preferred Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, or similar integration patterns preferred Experience launching products in global markets preferred Understanding of data privacy, governance, or regulatory frameworks related to vehicle data preferred Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future Willingness to report to a specific location at least 3 times per week Willingness to travel less than 25% Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in product management for vehicle command and data APIs, with a strong focus on user journey definition, product requirements, and success metrics.
