Job Description
Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Profession: Living Center North CNA

Shift: Full-time day and night shift variable, shifts scheduled as needed
Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours
Experience: One (1) year of previous Long Term Care (LTC) experience
License: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
Certifications: BLS (AHA or RQI only)
Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED


Description:
Resident's ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment.
This includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care.
Documentation is completed per protocol.


Resident's environment and safety are maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, and maintaining cleanliness of the unit.
Behavior and fall prevention measures are implemented.
The appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment is ensured.
Documentation is completed per protocol.


Resident's nutritional needs will be met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and providing nourishments.
Resident's preferences and choices shall be honored, and documentation is completed per protocol.


Resident's rehabilitative needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and the use of assistive devices.
Documentation is completed per protocol.


Resident's rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to the Charge Nurse or Supervising Nurse in a timely manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported promptly to the Charge Nurse.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
