ROLE OVERVIEW

This role supports Verizon’s Project Compass Source to Pay initiative within the Vendor Help Desk .

The position serves as a primary point of contact in a fast-paced, high-volume environment , handling inquiries, researching issues, communicating with stakeholders, identifying trends, and helping improve processes and workflows.

You will regularly interact with Finance personnel and leaders across Verizon’s lines of business .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Support & Inquiry Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a high-volume Vendor Help Desk.
• Log, triage, research, and resolve incoming requests quickly and accurately.
• Perform root-cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
• Support overall Project Compass program objectives.
• Handle multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Stakeholder Communication

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with Finance teams, business partners, and leadership.
• Use standard communication templates while tailoring responses to complex situations.
• Work cross-functionally to align efforts with Verizon's business objectives.
• Handle difficult or sensitive interactions with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism .

Resolution & Communication Excellence

• Manage time-sensitive and challenging inquiries.
• Maintain a calm, solution-focused approach .
• Provide clear, accurate, and empathetic written responses.
• Ensure communications meet professional corporate standards.
• Follow issues through to resolution.

Data & Executive Reporting

• Turn operational inquiries into clear summaries and actionable trends .
• Develop reports for executive leadership.
• Identify patterns and opportunities within inquiry data.

Best candidate = someone with a Bachelor’s + 3–5 years of experience who has worked in a high-volume Finance/Operations/Help Desk environment , can investigate and resolve complex inquiries, communicate professionally with executives and stakeholders, analyze large datasets, and turn operational information into reports, trends, and recommendations .
