JOB SUMMARY: The Teacher Leader for the Grant Writing Program provides instructional leadership in the planning, implementation, and delivery of a high school grant writing course. This position supports students in developing professional writing, research, collaboration, communication, and project management skills through authentic, project-based learning experiences.

The Teacher Leader works collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leadership, OVEC personnel, and community partners to guide students through the grant development process, including identifying community needs, conducting research, developing funding proposals, creating budgets, and presenting solutions to real-world challenges. The position serves as a mentor and instructional coach while fostering student leadership, critical thinking, civic engagement, and responsible stewardship of resources.

COMPENSATION: $300 Stipend for 10 hours of total work

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required
• Valid state teaching license is required
• Knowledge of professional writing, research, and projectbased instruction
• Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in education or a related field
• Experience leading collaborative initiatives or instructional programs
• Experience developing community or organizational partnerships
• Familiarity with grant development, proposal writing, budgeting, and evaluation processes
• Experience with projectbased learning, career and technical education, entrepreneurship, nonprofit work, grant writing, or community engagement
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Strong written communication and professional writing skills
• Knowledge of grant writing principles and proposal development
• Ability to facilitate projectbased and collaborative learning
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills
• Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and external stakeholders
• Strong facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
• Proficiency with educational technology, collaborative platforms, research tools, and presentation software
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and community partners
• Commitment to studentcentered instruction, equity, authentic learning experiences, and civic engagement
