Dean of Students

The Dean of Students is a 10 month position and is included in the Newark Teachers' Association CBA as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA). Starting Salary: $49,275 Base & commensurate with Experience. Additional Salary Credit available for Master's Degree and Graduate Credits.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Dean of Students will work closely with the principal, grade and department levelteams, instructional and behavioral coaches, schoolpersonnelandstudentsto build andmaintaina positive, safe school climate.The Dean of Studentswilldemonstrateand implementsuccessfulstudent behavior management strategies.The Dean of Students will support the principal of the school to ensure that students receive the best possible education and services with the resources available, and the school is a positive, safe, healthy, and productive place to learn.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support teachers in classroom setting with behavior management strategies Build positive relationships with students Communicate with parentsregardingdisciplinary issues Respond to students in crisis Support theMTSSprocess byassistingwith data collection Communicate with administrators andBHT Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
