Class II AHU Fabricator (2nd Shift)

Class II AHU Fabricator – 2nd Shift Location: Albany, MO. Shift: 2nd Shift | Full-Time. Pay: $21.50 per hour + $1.00 shift premium. At Johnson Controls Inc. (Albany Plant), we build custom high‑quality commercial air‑handling units (AHU) from sheet metal. Responsibilities Ensure hardware and components match Bill of Materials (BOM) Install components securely and ensure proper fit and alignment according to the Spec Sheet Prepare product to be painted and shipped Install hardware and custom parts into assembly per specification for HVAC Units Identify proper parts to complete assemblies by reading specification sheets and blueprints Utilize rivet gun, air gun, knife, welding and other hand tools to perform duties Operate bridge crane or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area Perform preventative maintenance and make minor machine repairs as needed Adhere to a production schedule, ensuring all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured while meeting safety standards Operate a fork truck (preferred) Participate in all high‑performance team activities (HPT) Qualifications Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints and build plans Previous experience in an industrial setting (preferred) High school diploma or GED (preferred) Language Ability Read and comprehend English, including instructions, memos, and manuals Write simple correspondence Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations Math Ability Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Compute rates, percentages, and interpret bar graphs Reasoning Ability Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Computer Skills Basic computer skills required Certificates & Licenses Operating a fork truck (preferred) Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration Noise level usually loud Physical Requirements Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms Frequently stand and walk; occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Benefits On‑Job Training Medical, Dental, Vision 401(k) with company match Life Insurance Paid Holidays Paid Vacation Short‑term and Long‑term disability Optional benefits such as pet insurance, ID theft protection, and legal support
