Equitas Health Part-Time EFDA Position

Established in 1984, Equitas Health is a regional not-for-profit community-based healthcare system and federally qualified community health center look-alike. With 22 offices in 12 cities, it serves more than 67,000 individuals in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia each year through its diverse healthcare and social service delivery system focused around: primary and specialized medical care, retail pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, HIV/STI prevention, advocacy, and community health initiatives.

Hourly Rate: $28.22- $35.24

Part-Time Role

Essential Job Functions:

Applicants must be able to tune into details while balancing service quality with efficiency. Since communication is key in a fast-paced/high volume practice, applicants are required to share knowledge and pass information quickly and effectivelyall to promote a fluid work environment. One of the most important functions of EFDAs in our practice is performing fillings with extreme accuracy and with high efficiency. Although speed is very important for this job, the quality of the work and the customer service that accompanies it are equally important.

Along with the aforementioned requirements, it is also expected that the EFDA:

• Be able to fill and polish with efficiency, speed, and accuracy.
• Have excellent chairside skills
• Proficiency with dental instruments and chairside hardware
• Possess productivity management skills
• Be open to a long term commitmentultimately to grow with the practice
• Be punctual
• Be able to communicate effectively with patients (good customer service skills)
• Be able to work well under pressure and time constraints
• Have a high motivation for patient care
• Has an Ohio Radiology Certificate
• Has their Hepatitis B Vaccinations up to date
• Be familiar with dental software (plus if proficient with Dentrix)

Major Areas of Responsibilities:

• Performing Fillings and aiding Doctors with their restorative patients
• Sealants
• Sterilization
• Conducting Xrays (FMX and Panos)
• Child Prophy
• Bite adjustments
• Denture Steps
• Temporary Crowns and bridges
• Helping with Inventory Organization
• Communicating and instructing patients/parents regarding their dental needs and help to alleviate any concerns or questions they may have
• Communicate and coordinate with all the team members and management staff to not only provide a productive work environment, but also to set/achieve office goals.
• Assist with regular Dental Dental Assistant functions (Prepping rooms, instrument setup/sanitation, model pouring/prep, etc)
• Assisting with Front Desk functions
• Helping with all lab duties (prepping and pouring, checking-in, scheduling, organizing)
• Must have experience placing fillings, polishing, and putting on sealants
• All Dental Assistant Duties in addition to all EFDA duties.

Education/Licensure:

• Ohio EFDA License (Required)
• Dental Radiology Certification (Required)
• Coronal Polishing (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Qualifications:

• Dental Assisting: 2 years (Required)
• Placing Fillings: 1 year (Preferred)
• Taking FMX and Panoramic Xrays: 2 years (Required)
