Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the accounting operations of a food and beverage manufacturing facility in the Mount Laurel, NJ area. This role will assist with month-end close, general ledger activities, product costing, inventory accounting, financial analysis, and manufacturing accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience within a food and beverage manufacturing environment, strong product costing and inventory accounting knowledge, excellent Excel skills, and experience with backflushing processes. Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Support monthly accounting close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Perform product costing and related financial analysis, primarily using Microsoft Excel. Maintain and analyze inventory-related accounting records and transactions. Support inventory reconciliation and backflushing processes. Research and resolve accounting, costing, and inventory discrepancies. Analyze product costs, manufacturing variances, and inventory activity. Support general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial data. Utilize JD Edwards (JDE) to review and maintain accounting and inventory information. Work closely with accounting, finance, and plant operations teams. Assist with financial reporting, audits, and special accounting projects as needed. Travel occasionally to another plant as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience Previous Staff Accountant, Cost Accountant, Plant Accountant, or similar accounting experience. Food and beverage manufacturing experience required. Strong experience with product costing and inventory accounting. Knowledge of backflushing processes strongly preferred. Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or a similar ERP system preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet accounting deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both accounting and plant operations teams. Comfortable working in a casual, personable, and collaborative environment.
