Job Summary:
Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Athens, Texas. This position involves providing specialized neurocritical care within a dedicated neuro ICU unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts per week with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: 0 years of experience required; must hold an active state or compact license in hand at the time of submittal. Credentials include ACLS and BLS certifications. Candidates should have experience with Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patients, Central line care/management, CVA/Acute Stroke management, External ventricular drain (EVD), Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Lumbar drains, Management of dysrhythmias, Post Craniotomy, Post Neurosurgery management, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury.
• Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of neuro ICU experience, EMR experience with Epic, and familiarity with neuro-specific procedures and equipment.
• Additional Information: UT does not contract travelers residing in the counties of Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris. All RTO requests must be listed at time of submittal. Previous staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as travelers.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Shift Time: 3x12 hour nights.
• Facility & Patient Care Details: Adult patients with a daily census of approximately 14. The unit includes interdisciplinary support such as IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary. The unit cares for patients with diagnoses related to neuro critical care, post neurosurgery, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and strokes.
