Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their communication development during a part-time maternity leave position for a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract opportunity, ideal for SLPs with the CCC certification and school experience, is located in the vibrant community near Andover, KS. The position serves Derby High School and features a blend of consultative and direct student work, helping a diverse caseload of 46 students.

Key Details:

• Assignment runs from 10/4/26 through 12/23/26, with the opportunity to begin 1-2 weeks prior for seamless transition and shadowing.
• Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays—about 20 hours weekly, based on workflow.
• Caseload requires balancing consult hours (1,085) and direct service (750).
• All services are in-person—no virtual-only service models permitted.
• Supportive environment and structured schedule to promote work-life balance.

Qualifications:

• Active SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required.
• Previous experience providing speech/language services in a school setting strongly preferred.
• Understanding of IEP documentation, progress monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to organize workloads efficiently and build positive relationships with students and staff.
• References must be provided before the offer process; please have them prepared in advance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and provide direct and consultative speech/language interventions.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and families to support student goals.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state regulations.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the student services department.
