Position Summary

The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from schools, therapy appointments, medical appointments, community programs, adult day programs, and other approved destinations while providing outstanding customer service and maintaining the highest safety standards.

Drivers serve as ambassadors for Buttafly's Xpress LLC by creating a welcoming, respectful, and professional experience for every passenger.

Primary ResponsibilitiesSafe Transportation

• Safely transport passengers according to assigned routes and schedules.

• Follow all state and local traffic laws.

• Ensure passengers are properly seated and secured before moving the vehicle.

• Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle when needed.

• Operate wheelchair lifts and properly secure mobility devices when applicable.

• Maintain a calm and safe driving environment.

Customer Service

• Treat every passenger with dignity, patience, and respect.

• Build positive relationships with students, families, caregivers, and facility staff.

• Communicate professionally with dispatch and management.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding passenger information.

Vehicle Responsibilities

• Complete daily vehicle inspections before and after every shift.

• Report maintenance concerns immediately.

• Keep vehicles clean inside and out.

• Refuel vehicles as required.

• Maintain accurate mileage and inspection logs.

Route Management

• Follow assigned routes and schedules.

• Use GPS and routing software efficiently.

• Notify dispatch of traffic delays or emergencies.

• Maintain punctual pickups and drop-offs.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies.

• Follow Ohio transportation regulations.

• Maintain required certifications and training.

• Participate in safety meetings and continuing education.

• Report accidents, incidents, or behavioral concerns immediately.

Documentation

• Complete daily route sheets.

• Record passenger attendance.

• Document incidents accurately.

• Maintain vehicle inspection reports.

• Submit required paperwork on time.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Valid Ohio Driver's License

• Clean driving record

• Minimum age of 21 years (preferred)

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to pass:

  • Background Check

  • FBI/BCI Fingerprinting

  • Drug Screening

  • Motor Vehicle Record Review

• CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Ability to safely assist passengers with mobility needs

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary

Preferred Experience

Experience working with:

• Children

• Individuals with Autism

• Individuals with developmental disabilities

• Medicaid transportation

• School transportation

• Senior transportation

• Wheelchair transportation

• Healthcare transportation

• Customer service

Experience is preferred but not required . Paid training may be provided for qualified candidates.
