Our team supports a substantial existing line of contracts and subscriptions and is moving toward a modular, modern platform to support new opportunities such as recurring paid membership and streaming subscriptions. We develop new subscription partnerships and offers that support all sales channels, manage vendor integration, contract lifecycle, activation, and one-time or recurring billing. We partner and interact with many Best Buy systems to provide end-end engaging experience for our customers.

Project Description:

We are building a modernization platform to replace our legacy systems. This includes building cloud native systems that will replace and/or enhance existing systems to a modern and modular system that can are built to scale. This is an opportunity to take your engineering talent and work with a myriad of teams, drive a passionate group of developers, and deliver end-end customer centric solutions.

• Provide hands-on contributions in all phases of the front-end development – architecture, design, development, MVP, and Dev Ops of key Technology initiatives

Position Summary/Job Description:

• Work with modern engineering concepts including Microservices, agile development methodology, test-driven development, continuous integration, and deployment practices

• Bring a creative and innovation-driven mindset with the ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability

• Build high-performance, highly available and scalable distributed systems

• Accountable and responsible for code and design reviews, aggressive refactoring and collaborating with other engineers on the team

• Anticipate and solve technical issues and make architectural and design decisions to avoid those issues.

• Work closely with test engineers to help build test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate effectively on cross-functional projects

• Proactively mitigate high impact risks to prevent them from turning into issues and support efforts to manage and resolve critical issues

Skills Overview:

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?

• 8 + years of experience designing and developing in technologies like JavaScript (Angular, React, Node), HTML/CSS, TypeScript and Java, open-source frameworks, RESTful web services, and work on cross-browser and cross-device development.

• 4+ years of experience with modern engineering concepts and technologies including microservices, cloud-native development, off-heap caching solutions such as Redis etc.

• Experience leading complex technical designs working directly with senior engineers, product managers and business stakeholders.

• Ability to articulate engineering designs and drive complex solutions across experience.

• Experience designing and implementing role-based features.

• Knowledge of and working experience with networks, security, firewalls, and other infrastructure components.

• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX to scale, performance, security, and usability.

• Test-driven development, refactoring, automated unit test, integration test, functional test, and continuous integration/deployment.
