Job Summary Provides a full range of legal advice and services | Responsibilities are within the Legal Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Impact of the Role General Profile Recognized as an expert within the company and requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline and broad knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function Solves unique problems that have a broad impact on the business Contributes to the development of organization functional strategy Progression to this level is typically restricted on the basis of business requirements Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Responsible for ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develops and reviews the organization's policies, practices, and guidelines. Assists in protecting the organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides counsel to senior leadership. Identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance. Assists or represents the organization in business negotiations. Additional Responsibilities Provide legal guidance on transactions, regulatory issues, operations, disputes, and investigations Draft and negotiate complex commercial and government agreements Advise on FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, FCPA, and privacy rules Manage outside counsel Partner across teams to manage risk Maintain contract templates and legal processes Develop and review policies and guidelines Required Qualifications Required education and experience: J.D. Degree and 10-12 years' experience Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Other: State Bar membership required Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Other: Prior in-house and government contracts experience strongly preferred Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to aerospace and defense companies, including experience with government contracts and familiarity with FAR/DFARS and related flow-downs and compliance obligations Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Travel Requirements 25-50% travel likely.
