State and Local Tax - Income Franchise - Senior Manager

Overview At PwC, the Senior Manager in State and Local Tax (SALT) provides strategic advice and guidance on local tax planning, compliance, and strategy for clients. The role focuses on interpreting local tax laws, optimizing tax positions, and serving as a strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders. Responsibilities include leading large projects, innovating processes, maintaining operational excellence, and mentoring staff. Responsibilities Lead significant projects and drive process innovation. Maintain exceptional standards of operational excellence. Interact with clients at senior levels to achieve project success. Develop and sustain client relationships. Mentor and guide staff members to enhance their skills. Assess and recommend solutions for state and local tax issues. Achieve compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Communicate local tax developments effectively. What You Must Have Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in tax, technology, or finance. CPA, member of the Bar, or other relevant credentials may qualify. A juris doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master’s in Accounting or Taxation considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. What Sets You Apart Master’s Degree preferred. Proficiency with FAS 109, unitary filing, apportionment methodologies. Ability to develop and sustain client relationships using networking, negotiation, and persuasion skills. Experience preparing and presenting complex written and verbal information. Defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection. Leadership skills to supervise teams and foster an atmosphere of trust. Encouraging diverse views to promote improvement and innovation. Coaching staff with timely meaningful feedback. Managing efforts as a tax technical business advisor. Travel Requirements Up to 20%. Salary Salary range: $124,000 - $335,000.
