Private Markets Data & Operations Analyst (Remote-Friendly)

Pomifer Capital is an extension of family office teams focused on differentiated venture capital and private equity funds, co-investment opportunities from those funds, and other distinctive opportunities that arise in the private markets. Position Overview The Investment Data & Operations Analyst will support the data analytics and operational infrastructure of private market investment portfolios for family office clients. This role is execution-oriented and combines investment data management, portfolio analytics, and end-to-end operational support for private market investments, including capital calls, distributions, and documentation. The analyst will work closely with the investment team, family office clients, and external service providers to ensure accurate data, timely execution, and high-quality client reporting. While the role includes meaningful investment data and analytics responsibilities, the core focus is private market investment operations, with significant exposure to client-facing work. Investment Data & Analytics Collect, clean, and organize investment data across sourcing, diligence, and portfolio monitoring workflows and across multiple software platforms into centralized databases and spreadsheets. Maintain accurate datasets for private market performance metrics (e.g., IRR, DPI, TVPI), unfunded commitments, cash flows, and commitment pacing across funds, co-investments, and direct investments. Conduct and interpret analyses of clients’ private market portfolios, including commitment pacing, fund-level performance, cohort and vintage year comparisons, underlying sector and geographic exposures, and portfolio company-level performance. Maintain and update look-through exposure analyses across underlying portfolio companies, sectors, geographies, and strategies to support portfolio construction and monitoring. Maintain and continuously improve recurring client reporting, ensuring all data reconciles to underlying records and source documents. Prepare analytical materials for internal discussions and client meetings, ensuring numbers are accurate, consistent, and clearly presented. Research & Market Mapping Provide ongoing research on venture capital, private equity, and other private asset classes, including industry trends, benchmarks, and performance data. Map and maintain a structured view of venture capital and private equity managers by sector focus, fund size, geographic exposure, strategy, and other relevant attributes. Investment Operations Coordinate and process capital calls and distributions across client entities, including preparing funding notices, routing wires for approval, and performing post-transaction checks. Verbally verify new or updated wire instructions with fund managers or administrators prior to processing capital call payments to help mitigate fraud risk. Assist with reconciliations across capital account statements, custodial records, administrator reports, and internal systems; investigate and resolve routine breaks or discrepancies and elevate issues as needed. Support the completion and tracking of subscription documents and other closing documentation for new investments, working closely with the investment team, clients, and service providers. Maintain clear records and calendars for upcoming capital calls, distributions, and key fund deadlines to support liquidity planning and proactive client communication. Support cash forecasting and liquidity planning for client portfolios by tracking expected capital calls, distributions, and other anticipated cash movements. Review capital account statements, management fee and expense information, and periodic valuation updates for completeness and consistency, coordinating questions or follow-ups with fund managers, administrators, or other service providers as needed. Maintain organized records of fund reporting, capital activity notices, financial statements, and other manager communications across document repositories and investor portals. Serve as an operational resource for client discussions related to capital calls, distributions, capital account statements, and private market performance metrics. Process Improvement & Automation Help re‑engineer and automate internal workflows using AI and other emerging technologies, particularly in areas such as data ingestion, document parsing, performance tracking, reporting workflows, sourcing support, and diligence processes. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure data used for reporting and analysis reflects accurate, up‑to‑date information across systems and providers. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field preferred. At least three years of relevant experience in private market investment operations, fund administration, portfolio analytics, consulting, or asset management. Demonstrated interest in private market asset classes (e.g., private equity, venture capital), family offices, and emerging technologies. Strong proficiency in Excel or comparable spreadsheet tools; comfort working with large, multi‑entity, multi‑investment datasets. High attention to detail, particularly in capital calls, distributions, reconciliations, and client‑level reporting. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to discuss core private market metrics and processes with clients and service providers. This role is expected to work closely with the team, and local candidates are strongly favored. Remote work may be considered for the right candidate.
