Director, Trade Strategy (1 of 2)

Gilead Sciences seeks a Director of Trade Strategy to serve as subject matter expert on distribution channels and market access strategies. This role involves developing and executing channel strategies for in-line and pipeline products while collaborating across commercial, finance, legal, and operations functions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as trade strategy subject matter expert and primary contact for senior leadership on distribution and channel questions
- Monitor market trends including alternate site of care, telehealth, and other disruptive models; inform stakeholders
- Develop and execute new product channel strategies and lead RFP processes for distribution partners
- Define portfolio-specific KPIs and metrics to measure performance of wholesalers, specialty distributors, and pharmacy partners
- Lead strategic insights generation via research and analytics to support contract negotiation and execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience
- Master's degree with 8+ years relevant experience, or PhD with 2+ years experience
- 6+ years in market access focused on distribution networks and channel segments
- Deep knowledge of specialty distributors, wholesalers, retail pharmacies, and telehealth platforms
- Strategic planning and vendor selection experience with cross-functional stakeholder management
- Subject matter expertise in trade contracting, compliance, and supply chain operations
