This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, marketing, and technology—and that's exactly what makes it rare. Based at our Pflugerville headquarters, you'll write about 10 sponsored content pieces a week for all of our Texas metros: Austin, Houston, and Dallas-Fort Worth. In addition to writing, you'll also be at the forefront of new, in-house tech to adapt to changing AI search so your stories can be found, cited, read, and maximized across platforms.

A Day in the Life

• Interviewing & Source Relationships: Research a business, prepare thoughtful story ideas and interview questions, then coordinate and conduct video or email interviews. 
• Writing & Approvals: Balance customer edits alongside required AP and CI style tools to ensure you're meeting the expectations of the advertiser and the needs of our brand to drive results. 
• Marketing Ideation: Assist sales reps with campaign ideas for current customers or to help upsell for future revenue, then write in a style that makes readers want to click a headline and read top to bottom. 
• Cross-Functional Execution: Work across internal departments to meet deadlines and related goals, plus problem-solve when issues arise. 
• Tool Implementation: Understand our in-house CRM and use our in-house CMS and other software to help you juggle your workload.

Requirements:

• Reliable transportation to drive to a local office and occasionally to business events. 
• At least 1 year of prior work experience in a role that uses your background in journalism, marketing, communications, English, or similar degree.
