General Responsibilities Under supervision, performs routine security functions to ensure the protection of property and the safety of students and staff at an assigned school; and performs related duties as required. Establish and maintain good rapport with students, staff, and community members. Regulates student behavior on campus, in cafeterias, restrooms, and other open areas. Checks passes and identification cards. May be required to control classroom disturbances and defiance of authority. Use reasonable judgment in attempting to identify trespassers. Directs traffic and parking on campus. Observes and reports violations of safety and health codes. Transport district vehicles to/from district Transportation Department. Campus beautification (pick-up trash) and operate golf cart. Be able to restrain students for their own safety. Knowledge of flag procedures when displaying and safeguarding it. Must be self-motivated and professional in appearance. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent GED Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR card Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Class D License Submit to annual and random Drug and Alcohol testing Acceptable driving record for the last three years Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC) Private security or public police experience preferred, including knowledge of school and local laws (including search and seizure) Skills & Requirements Knowledge of basic methods of site security and safety. Ability to exercise good judgment in safety and security violations and emergencies. Ability to work with school-aged children enforcing safety and security rules. Good oral communication and interpersonal skills. Evaluation & Supervision Evaluation performed by the supervising Administrator with input from site principal and lead campus security, per governing board policy. Supervision received from the Lead Campus Security and on-site administrator.
