Job Overview Do you love to clean and want to make a difference in your community? The Utah State Hospital (USH) is seeking a capable, diligent entry‑level Custodian. Custodians are responsible for routine cleaning, laundry, and maintenance of our facility. This is a full‑time position (Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am‑3:30 pm). Compensation Full‑Time status Salary : $16.08 per hour Work Location : In‑office / On‑site Bonus : The bonus will be paid in installment payments leading up to the 12‑month mark for new full‑time employees. Key Responsibilities Sort soiled linens, wash, dry, fold, and re‑stock clean linens daily. Clean and maintain floors, dust, wax, and polish furniture; wash windows, mirrors, and other glass or plastic items; empty trash and garbage. Maintain building(s) and facilities in a clean and orderly condition, including removing snow from sidewalks and doorways. Clean, sterilize, and/or disinfect areas and equipment. Set up and arrange tables and chairs. Qualifications Familiar with basic housekeeping practices, techniques, and procedures. Physically able to meet the demands of the position, which includes repetitive and continuous walking, standing, crouching, lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Comfortable using cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment. Preferred Qualifications Able to closely follow written or oral instruction and willingly accept training and feedback. Diligent, reliable, and trustworthy. Detail oriented when completing assigned cleaning duties. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
