Dishwasher

Job Overview Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards. Work Schedule Part Time, 24 hours per week. Availability needed: Sunday‑Saturday for variable shifts. Shift Assignments: 7am or 8am‑4:30pm, 2pm‑10:30pm, 5pm‑10pm. Primary Shift: 2pm‑10:30pm. Required: Rotating holiday & weekend coverage. Responsibilities Cleans and sanitizes dishes. Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors. Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures. Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Disposes of infectious waste and trash per established procedures. Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g., commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures. Qualifications Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work. One or more year of experience in food services or housekeeping services (preferred). Ability to read color coded labels and chemicals and follow written and verbal directions. Ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred). Physical Requirements Ability to see, read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs. Occasional interaction with customers requiring communication and understanding spoken information quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment. Ability to lift, pull, push equipment and materials of varying weights, up to heavy items. Ability to stand for long periods, work on hands and knees, bend, set up, troubleshoot, and carry supplies and equipment. Tolerance of extremes in temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
