Aquaculture Systems Specialist

To support sustainable aquaculture practices, the part-time Aquaculture Systems Specialist will design and implement closed fish farming systems (RAS) in Iraq, coordinating with stakeholders and providing capacity-building workshops, all while working remotely for a duration of three months with the possibility of extension. Key responsibilities Develop technical specifications for RAS systems based on best practices and local feasibility Coordinate with FAO experts and stakeholders to oversee aquaculture activities and provide technical support Lead workshops and training sessions to build capacity among fish farmers and partners on sustainable aquaculture practices Required qualifications Advanced university degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of relevant experience Minimum of 5 years' experience in RAS design, implementation, and project coordination Working knowledge of English Deep knowledge of RAS systems, fish nutrition, and sustainable aquaculture practices Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs
