The front desk clerk performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, and record-keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains office procedures and assists with administrative tasks.
• Greets patients and checks them in/out while taking care to make sure all insurance information is correct.
• Collects appropriate payments/balances from patients.
• Verifies eligibility and benefits at least 1 day in advance to ensure insurance is correct and referrals are active.
• Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly.
• Receives patients and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from patients and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate manager, co-worker, or physician.
• Operates office machines and computers as required to ensure patients are processed correctly and effectively. This includes scanning in and attaching face sheets/quote forms etc. on same day of appointment.
• Duplicates and distributes materials as necessary.
• Assists patients with the use of the practice / clinic facilities or services.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.

Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements

• High School or GED

Experience Requirements

• 2+ years clinical/Insurance front desk experience required.
• Do not apply if you do not have this experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
• Self starter and consistent work ethic
• Organizational skills to support the leadership of this function
• Ability to follow office operating procedures for admin staff.
• Interpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needs
• Able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (preferred), both verbally and in writing
• Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solving
• Excellent computer skills is a must
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function for example Avality and insurance verification is a must.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00-22.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift 7:45-5:00- Must arrive at 7:45 to be ready for first patient.
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• WEEKENDS OFF

Work Location: 3903 Wiseman Blvd, Suite 302 and 2241 NW Military Hwy, Suite 200.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
