Whether you're just starting your career or looking for your next opportunity, GEODIS offers the tools, support, and career paths to help you go further.Your role on the team:Establishes and leads operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse/distribution center inventory currentEnsures the physical condition of warehouse and equipment are properly maintainedEnsures work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment are submitted to the appropriate personsConfers with others to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functional areas such as customer service and salesPartners with the customer to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by communicating frequently with customers and following up on customer concerns and requestsEnsures safe operation of the warehouse including meeting company standards for sanitation, maintenance, safety, and securityEnsures operational excellence in all warehouse areas, related equipment, and warehouse management systemsLeads an efficient and successful operations while successfully mitigating any barriers to successPartners with engineering to implement and maintain proper layout of warehouse and product placementMonitors and ensures facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost effective manner to ensure the profitability and productivity of the distribution centerEnsures adequate staffing, training, coaching and development for employeesReports employees' hours worked to Payroll on a weekly basisProvides hands on management of the distribution center including interviewing, hiring, and training Supervisory and hourly staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; and appraising performance to create a strong company cultureEnsures compliance with CTPAT, ISO, AIB, and others regulatory certifications as applicableEffectively manages the budget and P&L of the operationAddresses complaints and resolves problemsFor food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to senior management to initiate actionWhat you need:Experience with warehouse management systems preferredExperience with labor management systems and productivity initiatives preferredLean certifications preferredMust be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general publicAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formWhy Build Your Career with GEODIS?Deliver Bigger Rewards Competitive pay, with bonus opportunities available for select positions.Deliver a Schedule That Fits Your Life Full-time, part-time, seasonal, day, night, weekend, and flexible opportunities available at many locations.Deliver Your Pay, Your Way Get access to your earned wages before payday with on-demand pay options.Deliver Better Benefits Free telemedicine beginning on Day One, plus affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage after a short waiting period.Deliver More Time for What Matters Paid holidays, paid time off, short-term disability, parental leave, and other benefits designed to support life beyond work.Deliver with Confidence Your safety comes first.
