Job Title : Research Technician II Location : South San Francisco, CA 94080 (fully on-site) Duration : Until 11/23/2026 Interview Format : Virtual (Three rounds) The opportunity We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using structural biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of large macromolecular complexes involved in DNA repair processes. The role involves protein purification, reconstitution, and structure determination of DNA-protein complexes using cryoEM. Additionally, you will help to develop functional biochemical assays to assess and determine the mechanism of action of various multi-subunit protein complexes. You will be highly encouraged to think deeply about the biological problem, make significant intellectual contributions to the chosen research project, and work closely with other team members. It is an exceptional opportunity to pursue basic and drug-discovery questions in a well-resourced biotechnology environment. Qualifications BS/MS degree with 3-5 years of experience or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience designing and optimizing the purification of challenging protein targets (including protein complexes) for structural and/or functional studies. Development of functional biochemical and biophysical assays. Experience in cryoEM sample and grid preparation (beneficial qualification).
