About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotation Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: - Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience. License: - Valid nursing license required. Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS Must-Have: - Current acute care experience. - Experience in infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Description: This position involves caring for adult and geriatric patients. Primarily, the focus will be on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The staffing ratio is intended to be 1:4, but it can vary based on patient needs. The role requires knowledge of telemetry interpretation, IV therapy, and phlebotomy. Key responsibilities include blood product administration and central line management. Experience with computerized charting systems is essential. This unit offers interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and pharmacy services. A strong emphasis is placed on patient safety and infection prevention protocols. Candidates must be available for variable weekend shifts based on unit needs. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required.
