Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Schedule: Days/Evenings, 5 x 8s, M - F 6:00 AM - 8:30 PM. Open to 4 x 10s. Schedule and start times rotate.

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 10 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40.00

Requirements:

• Current RN license in state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: Preferred
• One year previous full-time experience in the operating room: Required
• Ortho, Neuro, and Trauma experience: Required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists and coordinate flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures.
• Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care.
• Participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including safe and appropriate anatomical positioning.
• Perform pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials from operative procedures.

Compliance / Notes:

• Call is at least 1 night per week and 1 weekend per schedule. Potentially more based on need.
