Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician – Electrification Lab & Facilities Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrification laboratory equipment and facility infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of test environments through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and facility support. Key Responsibilities Lab Equipment & Test Support Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of laboratory equipment, test systems, and fixtures. Support the setup, modification, and operation of test benches, dynamometers, and electrification systems. Build, modify, and maintain test harnesses, electrical loads, and test fixtures. Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical assemblies. Calibration & Validation Perform thermal chamber calibration and verification activities. Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with laboratory standards. Assist with validation testing and other maintenance activities as assigned. Facility Maintenance Perform general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and repairs. Complete preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment. Support grounds maintenance, snow removal, and minor construction projects. Troubleshoot facility-related issues affecting laboratory operations. Preventative Maintenance & Documentation Execute scheduled preventative maintenance for laboratory and facility equipment. Maintain maintenance logs, calibration records, and work orders. Ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational reliability. Safety & Compliance Follow all workplace safety procedures and electrical safety standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Support facility safety and security initiatives. General Duties Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and operations teams. Work independently or within a team environment. Participate in on-call support as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field preferred. Experience Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, facilities, or technical support experience. Experience with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Previous laboratory or test equipment maintenance experience is preferred. Required Skills Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation. Hands-on experience using diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes. Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Strong organizational and time management skills. Basic computer proficiency for documentation and maintenance tracking. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Valid driver's license. Preferred Skills Experience working with electrification systems including motors, inverters, and batteries. Experience with calibration equipment such as thermal chambers and power analyzers. Background in mechatronics, automation, or robotics. Familiarity with preventative maintenance management systems. Work Environment Primarily first shift (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM); overtime may be required. Combination of laboratory, workshop, and facility maintenance environments. Requires standing, walking, lifting, and other physical activities throughout the workday. Occasional on-call or off-shift support may be required.
