About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Morgantown, West Virginia, 26501!

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed combined Stepdown (12 beds) and Floor (20 beds) unit serving a typical MedSurg population including chest pain, COPD, altered mental status, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow from various services, and GIP Hospice patients
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on the Stepdown side and 1:4-6 on the Floor side
• Manage and titrate drips in the Stepdown setting; administer PCAs, heparin, and similar set-rate infusions on the Floor side
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor technicians who provide continuous monitoring
• Collaborate with a dedicated free charge nurse, house supervisor, nurse aides, and respiratory therapy as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Float to other floor or stepdown units within the facility as needed

• Active RN license valid for practice in West Virginia
• Current BLS certification (must be unexpired)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination defined as 2 doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review and approval
• Ability to read telemetry strips independently
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with drip titration in an intermediate care environment
• Experience working with hospice or GIP Hospice patient populations
• Comfort floating across multiple unit types within a hospital system

• Work within a well-supported unit structure that includes a dedicated charge nurse, house supervisor coverage, and nurse aide staffing
• Gain experience across a diverse MedSurg and Stepdown patient population in a large academic medical center setting
