We’re hiring a Housekeeping Inspector to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon! Job Summary Inspect and complete assigned section to ensure adherence to company standards and quality guest service. The Details Position Type: Full‑Time, Year‑Round Pay: $18.05 per hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Grand Canyon South Rim? Responsibilities Inspect daily, entire assigned section (guest rooms, linen rooms, hallways, grounds etc.) to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper condition to meet or exceed departmental and company standards. Report condition and status of guest rooms to front desk in efficient and timely manner. Maintain and uphold all company policies, assist in the development of assigned employees through training and performance enhancement. Report to Unit Housekeeper and Housekeeping Supervisor on the performance and/or behavior of the employees assigned to the inspector. Control keys, master, and guest room keys, and maintain security of all guest rooms, both occupied and unoccupied. Enforce safety regulations, precautions, and information to provide a safe working atmosphere for self and employees assigned. Communicate effectively with Unit Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, Rooms Office staff, Front Desk, maintenance, Porter staff and other departments and guests. Maintain a courteous and helpful behavior towards guests and fellow employees. Exercise tact and discretion at all times while on duty. Participate in established programs designed to further professional growth and development. Assume duties of a GRA when necessary and able to effectively carry out duties of any assigned inspector shift. Adhere to all Xanterra South Rim and NPS lost and found procedures. Adhere to all safety, risk management and environmental policies in performing tasks, including wearing required personal protective equipment. Ability to communicate with a 2‑way device using an earpiece at all times while on duty. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous GRA or other housekeeping experience. Display leadership ability, as well as a good foundation and knowledge of housekeeping operations. Able to meet all physical requirements of the job, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continual kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, pushing and long periods of standing/walking. Ability to maintain high quality of work & high energy while take more than 15,000-20,000 steps per workday at an elevation of 7,000 ft.
