JOB SUMMARY:

Mavericks Manufacturing Partners, Inc. provides precision grinding and CNC machining services for mission-critical components. We serve demanding applications in U.S. Navy programs, aerospace and defense, spacecraft and satellites, clean technology and alternative energy, semiconductor equipment, nuclear systems, and medical devices.

The Quality Inspector III performs advanced dimensional inspections and complex first article inspections, supports quality investigations, and mentors less-experienced inspectors. This senior technical role provides work direction and leads inspection activities as needed, helping ensure that components meet customer, engineering, and applicable regulatory requirements while supporting the quality management system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform complex first article, in-process, and final inspections of CNC-machined components, including tight-tolerance features and multiple-datum requirements.
• Operate and program coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and use height gauges, optical comparators, surface plates, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), including profile, position, and advanced datum structures.
• Verify material traceability, special process certifications, and outside processing documentation against applicable requirements.
• Lead preparation and review of AS9102 first article inspection reports (FAIRs), including ballooned drawings, traceability, and objective evidence; approve within assigned authority.
• Prepare inspection records and explain inspection methods during internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Identify recurring quality issues and support structured root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Develop and improve inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
• Work with machinists, programmers, and supervisors to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Review nonconformance reports and provide technical input on rework and disposition through the authorized review process.
• Train and mentor inspectors on measurement methods, documentation, and quality requirements; provide work direction as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training in machining, metrology, or quality control preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in a CNC machine shop quality role.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional inspection, GD&T, and applicable ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
• Strong proficiency in CMM operation and programming using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, quality databases, and inspection reporting tools.
• Strong communication, documentation, and leadership skills, including the ability to mentor inspectors and coordinate inspection work.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

COMPENSATION:

$30–$40 per hour; negotiable based on experience and technical capability.
