Machine Operators/ Material Handlers on 2nd and 3rd shift
Pay: $22-$24/hour
Location: Greater McHenry Area
Responsibilities
- Operate manual and automated saws to cut metal bar, tube, plate, and structural material according to work orders and specifications.
- Monitor cutting operations continuously to ensure accuracy, proper surface finish, and dimensional compliance.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using go/no-go gages, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify quality.
- Bundle finished material securely and place bundles on pallets using a forklift for safe storage or shipment.
- Build pallets when needed to support efficient material handling and staging.
- Record production data, inspection results, and material usage accurately in logs or digital systems.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, personal protective equipment requirements, and safe material-handling practices.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move heavy metal products safely throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and material handlers to maintain workflow and resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in a heavy industrial, metals-focused environment.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Machine operating experience in a production or metals manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working in a metals environment, including exposure to heat, noise, and heavy materials.
Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, IL.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
