Purchasing Agent

Job Summary : This is an experienced, individual contributor position which works under limited supervision and is responsible for the procurement of all material and supplies for the entire organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage, inventory and order all supplies and materials for the entire organization.
• Negotiate contracts with major suppliers.
• Receive orders into the accounting system daily.
• Process all invoices and distribute supplies accordingly.
• Process work orders for the production of kits & sub-assemblies on the shop floor.
• Monitor supply inventory, ordering replenishments as necessary.
• Manage the transfer of inventory between warehouse locations.
• Place inventory in to proper locations within designated storage areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Seven (7) or more years of experience in a purchasing role for a millwork, kitchen or bath organization with increasing level of responsibility over the duration of the position.
• Prior experience with Accounting/ERP software preferably Solomon.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft SL or similar.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office application such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Advanced knowledge of material and supply procurement.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Customer Service focus.
• Basic mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to interact professionally with vendors and all levels within the organization.
