Job Summary: The Sr. Accounting Manager establishes financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information; managing staff.Job Expectations:Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general accounting department staffEstablish internal controls over reconciliations to comply with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirementsEnsure Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance; participate in implementation, ongoing monitoring, testing and evaluation of internal controls regarding corporate mattersMonitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reportsObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structureEnsure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closeEnsure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information, including the completion of all balance sheet account reconciliationsManage accounting related activities for domestic and international subsidiaries as well as intercompany transactions. Manage prepaid, accruals, advertising related spend and related accounting entries. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures (i.e., robotic process automation) and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracyAdvise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactionsResearching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and proceduresReview audit requests and ensure accurate, timely and complete date to the auditorsSupervise general accounting staff to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are metAssist in development and implementation of new procedures and system functions to ensure enforcement of proper accounting methods and policiesProvide training to new and existing staff as neededWork with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staffSpecial projects and workflow process improvementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Required: Attention to detail and accuracyMust be able to work independently, as well as in a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be proficient with spreadsheets, documents, presentationsStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent organization skills and ability to multi-taskEquipment Knowledge:Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferredSAP ERP experience preferredBlackline experience preferredSarbanes Oxley (SOX) experience requiredExperience Requirements:Generally requires a minimum five (5) to seven (7) years of general accounting experience with at least four (4) years in a supervisory role. Public Accounting experience requiredEducation Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field requiredCPA license is required#LI-ME1Compensation: The expected salary range for this role is $165,000 - $175,000 USD.
